Because that was me, too, for a very long time.

As a fellow high-achiever, I know what it’s like to try all.the.tools.

And still feel emotionally stuck.

The vulnerable part...

While I have…

  • a PhD

  • a post-doc

  • a clinical license

  • experience as an academic researcher

… and I’m well versed in all the ‘gold standard’ mental health modalities…

By far the most powerful classrooms I’ve ever sat in were the treatment rooms I navigated as a patient in the mental health system after life threw me an unexpected curveball.

Very few people in my life at that time knew what was going on.

I know what it’s like to hide behind a polished mask. To perform. To maintain the poised professional exterior that hides a crumbling inner world.

As a patient, I experienced first-hand the gaps in how we approach emotional wellness.

"Gold standard" treatment didn't work for me. Not because I wasn't doing the work,

but because one-size-fits-all fails most people.

Rebuilding my mental and emotional health was a long and difficult process.

The worst part about showing up and doing the work to improve our emotional health as high achievers?

 We often blame ourselves when all the tools and approaches don’t work.

Having made it to full recovery,

I’m now on a mission to change this.

Because this dual perspective, having sat on both sides of the ‘therapy couch', turned out to be the best training for the work I do now.


It showed me what’s missing and gave me the clinical foundation to build something better.


And it’s what fuels me.

Because if there’s one thing I could say with all the urgency

in the world to my fellow high-achievers… It's this.

  • Don’t settle for second-best when it comes to your emotional well-being.

  • Don’t believe the lie that you’ll always silently struggle in some way.

It is possible to get to a place where you have a quiet calm and

confidence that isn’t dependent on how your day goes.

  • Research Associate in Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences (I understand how the brain works and how to work with it)

  • 5+ years as a clinical professor (I've taught across the medical specialties and have a holistic understanding of the brain-body connection)
